There is stupid and then there is dumb.  It seems like Vice President Chenney doesn't much like Senator Byrd, the (very very) senior Senator from West Virgina.  Personally I think Chenney's crack about inbreeding in West Virgina was a jab at Byrd and not necessarily an intentional crap on all West Virginians. 

Hec, I am no choir boy - I've told off color jokes myself, but I told them in private and I am not a public figure by any means.  When one signs on to public life there are certain understood expectations that one should refrain from such remarks.  And then there is Dick Chenney.   I guess Dick is the operative word here because not only did good ole Dick piss off the beltway crowd (of that I really could care less), but he pissed of an entire state in the middle of a crucial national election.

Way to go Dick!  The Stupid Politician.
