Obama Selected, not Elected, Democrats mum
We paid a visit to The Drudge Report web site (http://www.drudgereport.com) to see what's going on in the world. Just for yuks we browsed through the extensive links section, and a link to Ann Coulter's web site caught our eye.
If you don't know who she is, Ms Coulter is the firebrand tip-of-the-right-wing author and commentator/talking head who has a gift for saying just the right outlandish thing to grab headlines. We admire her for her ability to know exactly what to say to drive the liberal press absolutely nuts.
But, we have never followed her blog - up till now.

Ann Coulter's current blog entry is a fascinating one. She points out something that TheStupidNation.com missed. We were so fixated on Obama clinching the nomination we never bothered to read the stats. There is an amazing detail in the details of the Obama win. As Coulter points out in her usual style of wit and dripping sarcasm, poor Hillary won the popular vote, and Obama won the most delegates. So Hillary won, but lost (doubly bitter for her)
Let me repeat that: Hillary won the popular vote, and Obama won the most delegates.
Does this sound familiar? It should.
Eight years ago when George Bush won the majority in the Electoral College, and Al Gore won the popular vote, the Democrats went absolutely nuts! Do you remember? They totally freaked out when George beat Al in the votes that constitutionally counted. The bitter hatred that flowed out from the various Democrat camps was nothing less than astonishing. This gave rise to the motto - 'Bush was selected, not elected.'
Do you know who used this phrase over and over? Hint: Initials HRC
Yeah, Hillary that's who. Well, well, what goes around comes around, because Obama is now in the selected club. And Hillary has now officially accepted the fact. Poetic justice served. We are loving it!
We believe this 'selected not elected' crap was a significant driver (though not the only one) behind the bitter partisanship that followed in both the Senate and House.
Now things have come full circle. Hillary WON the popular vote, yet Obama is now the unofficial but certain party nominee because he snagged the most delegates. We think it would be fun to print up a t-shirt for Hillary that says "Elected, but not selected".
So, where is the bitter outrage from the democrats that Hillary had the nomination 'stolen' from her? Where is the liberal press expressing the same shock and horror as they did 8 years ago?
Nary a peep.
The Democrat Party does not hold an exclusive lock on hypocrisy, but they sure do know how to elevate it to an art form.
Hillary and the Party leadership owes George Bush an apology. Alas, they would rather disembowel themselves, and dine on each other's entrails than apologize to President Bush. More on apologies owed to Bush later..........
Read Coulter's blog - it's funny and it's sad. Poor Hillary, we ALMOST feel sorry for her. Almost.
