Energy Policy - A National Disgrace
A quick note on todays Democratic Party Congressional action to pass a pathetic tax bill disguised as an "energy" bill.
George Bush has been protecting his oil cronies for the last eight years. His comprehensive energy program was a laughable disgrace. The Democrats are no better. Instead of offering up real long-term initiatives and solutions, all they did was try to capitalize on the bad press about unseemly giant profits gushing from the oil industry for a naked money grab.
Both parties are equally pathetic. The Republicans may have rightly blocked this sham legislation, but they failed utterly simply because they have NOTHING to offer in it's stead.
In a time of crisis, Americans look for leadership and find absolutely none. This is one of the most troubling aspects of the State of the Union today - the absence of leadership.
Recently we here at The Stupid Nation.com wrote our Congressman, and our two Senators demanding that the nonsense over drilling in ANWAR stop and the moritorium on drilling be lifted. Our Republican Congressman at least had the courtesy to reply. Our two Democratic Senator's did not bother to acknowledge our plea, or existence.
We will have much more on the Energy topic in coming posts.
