Pelosi - The Mouth That Roared
Funny we should mention House Speaker Nancy Pelosi...she was in the news this evening. Pelosi, ostensibly the face of the Party Leadership, called George Bush "a total failure" according to an Associated Press article.
Pelosi was reacting to Bush Administration criticism of Congress for not being able to produce a single spending bill since the current legislative session began - something that hasn't happened for "20 years". Nancy didn't take too kindly to Bush pointing out her ineptness as Speaker. So she fired back with personal insults. A classy lady that.
The Party of Failure should be careful about throwing stones at a glass house.

As we have stated previously, there is plenty of cannon fodder to throw at the Bush Administration, especially for the post-combat Iraq fiasco, but even President George Bush cannot be declared a "total failure". The Party of Failure has done everything conceivable this side of the law to ensure that President Bush's Foreign Policy failed, and has blocked or otherwise been obstructionist towards much of the Bush Administration domestic policy since winning majority in both houses of Congress (the reversal is inevitable by the way, and can't come soon enough to suit us).
As we have complained previously, in totality, the energy policy of the United States has been a national disgrace. Is that Bush's fault - yes - is that Congress' fault - yes too. As anemic as it was, had Bush got his way and drilled for oil in ANWAR and off the coast, as was part of his energy advocacy, we would not be in the situation we find ourselves in today. Just about now that added supply capacity would have been coming on-line. We'd probably still have seen a price spike, but not nearly as severe. Bush did not have the foresight to predict the energy crisis would arrive at his doorstep late on his watch, but that an energy crisis was coming was obvious as daylight, and Congress did what Congress does best, according to Charlie Black - nothing. It is Congress' inaction 8 years ago that we are paying for now - in the billions and billions and billions. Sincerest thanks to the Democratic Party.
In the same article, Harry Reid, lead Democrat in the Senate, was quoted from sometime ago about his lack of decorum when it came to speaking of President Bush - "Who would be afraid of him? He's got a 29 percent approval rating."
A recent poll showed that Congress only has a 14% approval rating - among the lowest in the history of such polls. And the lion's share of the blame falls right at the feet of glass house Democrat. However, true to form, Harry Reid blamed Bush for the low Congressional ratings - we are not making that up! Good for a hearty laugh anyway. The Party of Failure will never accept responsibility for it's actions and inactions.
Thus far, The Stupid Nation has not yet awakened to where the problem really is, but as we just said....that is inevitable. We just hope there is a United States left by the time the slumbering masses awake.
