Seems like Barack Obama is having trouble gaining traction among swing conservatives.  So, if you can't wow them with facts, persuade them with suave liberal logic, deceive them with the usual crap, then try to scare the pants off them!

So enters that dreaded name in American politics these days - that shotgun toting, CIA Agent outing, Iraq War lying Dick Cheney.  If you read between the lines, Obama would have us believe that McCain and Cheney are former co-joined twins separated some time after birth. 

Ah, if it were only true......

So, rather than impress us with the undeniable righteousness of his cause, Obama says 'BOO!'

We didn't  flinch.

But Obama has.  As we stated earlier, Democrats are all about chasing and pandering to polls in order to gain and maintain power.  The polls show that the vast majority of Americans know the Democrats are dead wrong for refusing to open federal lands that may contain important fossil fuel reserves.  The Democrats are worried that the opinion tide has turned against them.  So, Obama backs away from his 'Can't drill our way out' stance.  Too bad he didn't have the guts to back away from his 'get out of Iraq no matter the consequences' stance.  Oh, we almost forgot - that would have upset his far left base way, way too much.

Opening the Strategic Oil Reserve?   That's like pissing on a forest fire.  After a fleeting temporary drop in oil prices is done, and our reserves depleted, the Iranians will test the neophyte President, and then we will be in a real 'sporty' situation.  The short term view is the stupid view, and after criticizing Wall Street for getting us into one hell of a financial mess due in large part to short-sightedness, the Democrats embrace the very same stupidity.  Way to go!  The long term view is that we need more oil supplies to buy us time to bring on non-fossil fuel based energy technologies.  We can't just snap our fingers and telekineticly will it done. 

And about half of voting Americans want Obama the Clown in the Oval Office? 

Meanwhile, reports are that the nauseating Nancy Pelosi, one of the worst Speakers ever to grace the chair, has been quietly telling Democrat candidates in trouble that's it's ok to speak out in favor of drilling to save their own necks.  Why?  Because Nancy Pelosi can afford to.  She has NO intention of allowing a vote on this issue, so the weaker, threatened Democratic candidates can say what they like.  It will take a Democratic coup of the speaker post to get drilling in the Arctic past that moron.  

And yes, that's the same Nancy Pelosi that zips around in a private 747 jumbo jet, which burns fuel by the ton.  It ain't easy being green, is it Nancy?
