Follow The Money
(There is so much going on right now......if only we had the time to turn this blog into an e-zine or something of the sort......sadly, we are working class conservatives, and our net asset value is less this month than it was last month....so we work our day jobs, and do the best we can to keep this blog going.....)
During one of the most profound political and constitutional crisis the United States ever faced, a man almost unknown outside the inner circles of Washington, D.C. advised an ambitious young Washington Post reporter to "follow the money". When "Deep Throat" FBI agent Mark Felt encouraged reporter Bob Woodward to follow the money trail of CREEP (Committee to RE-Elect the President) it played a crucial part in the downfall of then President Nixon.
Ever since then, Americans have been generally skeptical of politicians when they get tight lipped about where they are getting their money from or how they spend it. Also, there have been plenty of disclosure laws and other money related regulations passed into law governing campaign finance. Historically, campaign finance has been an often murky and troublesome aspect of pursuing elected office.
Campaign finance "glasnost" is good, the opposite is bad.
So while John McCain, makes available the name of every single person who has contributed to his campaign, Barack Obama, Mr Change himself, does not.
"Follow the money".
According to Ken Timmerman in a Newsmax.com piece, at least $213,450,000 dollars has arrived at Obama HQ from donors Mr. Change won't identify (thanks to www.AnnCoulter.com for posting a link). Of course, the Obama Campaign is not legally obligated to identify small dollar donors, and it is rather astonishing that Obama raked in a whopping 200 million from donors making contributions of $200 or less. Or did they.....we wonder how many "Mr. Good Will" and "Doodad Pro" type of donors Obama has. All we can do is wonder, because Mr Change himself won't tell.
And then there is the troubling amount of money flowing into Obama's coffers from overseas. If you are looking for simplistic litmus tests on who not to vote for President of the United States, just check and see who our enemies are funneling campaign money to. If you guessed the Iranians are sending money to Obama, congratulations, you guessed right.
McCain offers complete transparency of his campaign money flows. Obama doesn't. Bothered by that? Oh, you should be.
Follow the money, if you dare. Obama a candidate for "change"? Not on your blessed life.
