Stupid Is As Stupid Does

Ok - so perhaps it's a generational thing, but we admit we find the trend of teens emailing pictures of themselves in the buff to other teens is, well, bizarre.

However, what's more bizarre, a teenage girl who emailed some classmates a pic of herself in the buff, or the police arresting and imprisoning the girl on felony charges of kiddie porn for exploiting herself?  The girl is charged with "illegal use of herself [sic] in nudity-oriented material and possession of criminal tools".  And more strangeness - the jackass prosecutor is considering charges against the teens who got the email.  We wonder if the Court has issued a restraining order barring the kid from being within 100 yards of herself.   Figure that one out.

Can we call this traumatic experience for the kid psychological rape of a minor, and have the local criminal justice staff all tossed in prison themselves?

Kiddie porn laws were obviously enacted to protect kids from adults who are child sex predators.  These laws were never envisioned to be applied against kids.   Is playing 'spin the bottle' or 'Doctor' now a felony too?

This matter is a parental issue, not an issue for the Courts, much less a felony criminal matter.  This case represents yet another anecdotal and deplorable example of a criminal justice system run amok, and America drifting toward a police state.

Can the proscecutor be charged with felony malicious stupidity?  He/she should be.

We wonder......when will enough be enough for The Stupid Nation?  When it's too late?

These small minded people that are found in our criminal justice system are stepping well beyond their bounds. Their interpretations of the laws are reached in 'left to right' exercises of logic. They decide they want to punish this girl. Either their personal sense of decency was harmed or their thirst for power overwhelmed them, but something other than sensibility drove them. Once their mission was clear, it is time to find a law that they can 'spin' to meet their need. (They see the supreme court do it, so why can't they?) I know of a town that has a police 'party patrol'. They 'find' reasons to walk onto private property and 'discover' teen graduation parties where beer was consumed. Underage drinking cannot be tolerated for all of the obvious reasons. Be clear on this. IT CANNOT BE TOLERATED!. That being said, how can we as free Americans tolerate this ever increasing Police State that was emblematic of the worst dictatorships that our world has ever seen. Our liberal friends have seen to it that the police cannot harass street gangs, but they find no distaste for authoritarian tactics being used.

We are indeed going down a slippery road.
