The One Party System Passes Disastrous "Stimulus" Bill
History was made when President Obama was sworn into office this month, carried on a magic carpet of the hopes of a fearful nation shaken by an unpopular war and financial calamity. Hopes that Obama would be a wise leader, counseled by wise men and woman. Hopes that despite clear and convincing evidence that Barack Obama is a socialist with Marxist leanings, that he would abandon the far left, and lead from the center.
History was also made today when a $900,000,000,000 wild spending spree was authorized by the Democratic Party in the House, with reports claiming only twelve cents on the dollar actually going to true stimulus in the classic sense. All without a single solitary yea vote from a Republican member of Congress. Not one. Not a single solitary Oversight Committee hearing. Not one. Whatever you call what just happened, no one can call it "democracy" with a straight face.
The One Party System finally in full-on action; Nancy Pelosi reportedly smiling broadly.
President Obama, so soon into his tenure in the nation's highest elected office, has already proven he is not a wise leader. He is not counseled by wise men and women, or at least Obama is not listening, if so. He is not governing from the center, he is on the weeping edge of the far left. The Republicans, for all their flaws, and there are many, offered some wise counsel. Obama's response: "I won", you lose, screw you.
It is now clear that Emperor Obama's idea of "bipartisanship" was the expectation that the conservatives would abandon their conservative doctrine, and obediently vote to Obama's wishes because he wished it. As we fully expected, Obama's claims of listening to all ideas was a complete lie - no - a big lie, in the classic fascist propaganda doctrine sense. From his web-site beginnings, to meetings with Congressional leaders, it was clear that Obama's claim of being interested in an all inclusive think tank of solutions was an entire, complete, utter, absolute scam. We saw it coming, but The Stupid Nation bought it hook line and sinker.
It also became clear to us that the urgency of passing this sham stimulus bill was not because of a national emergency. Not because the banking system was going to fail in the next day or two, or because the auto industry was about to lay off millions. The urgency in passing this bill, without a single sub-committee examination, is because Obama and the Democrats knew that the longer this bill was under examination, the more non-aligned voters would become aghast by what was contained in this legislation. They had to get it in, and get it passed before too many details became public knowledge, and public resistance to this completely insane legislation grew.
Despite the public spat between conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh and the Republican leadership, it turns out the Republicans grew a back-bone in a hurry, and correctly refused to sign America's death warrant.
As we have said before, the Republican Party shoulders a large chunk of the blame for where we are today. Bush's fiscal doctrine was a disaster unto itself, and the Republican Party went along with it when they should not. They meekly protested Democrat meddling in the mortgage markets, which was a lynch-pin contributor to our financial crisis. Thus, there are no haloed politicians in Washington - none. But, all is not lost for the Republicans. Now is the time for all good, rational conservatives to come to the aid of their Country. By returning to the fundamentals of conservative principles - fiscal responsibility being chief among them. The Republican Party needs to go before the nation and cleanse itself with a heartfelt mea-culpa apology. Admit they errored with irresponsible fiscal policy and bad oversight. Then, renew their pledge to the American people that the conservative party will fight for rational fiscal policy, and oppose the socialization of America to the last conservative standing. This should be an energizing moment for Republicans, they need to come out of their corner swinging for all their worth. The future of America now depends on it.
Rush Limbaugh was essentially right - it's time for conservatives to band together as one, and stand up and fight.
Obama should be opposed at every turn.
