So the International Olympic Committee has spoken.  Crime ridden Rio de Janeiro won their bid to host an Olympics, and crime and corruption ridden Chicago was kicked out of consideration in the first round of voting, despite a plea from Mr. and Mrs. Obama.  

There is no doubt that Obama put his own prestige and the prestige of the American Presidency on the line as he trekked to Copenhagen, at huge expense to the American taxpayer, so he could try to secure the award of Olympic host for his corrupt home town. 

And he lost, and lost big.

So the conservative pundits around the Country howled over the loss, and many put the blame squarely on Obama and his wife (I have to admit her speech was far from "electrifying", as some left-wing media pundits claimed, rather it was embarrassing).  As much as I heap criticism on Obama for the gamut of his horrendous policies, I cannot affix blame for the Olympic host loss directly to Obama.  And frankly, I don't care where the next Olympics is hosted - although I suppose I'd be upset if it was hosted by North Korea or Iran but....

Huge egos don't take personal humiliation very well, and Obama stupidly put this own 'star power' and the prestige of the Presidency on the line by going over to Copenhagen and personally appealing for the Olympics hosting deal.  So by raising the stakes so high, pride goeth before the fall, and that huge ego fell along way.  As both Drudge and Limbaugh both blazed their headlines: "The Ego Has Landed".  Indeed it was a drubbing, and I am sure it hurt big.

While we don't fault Obama for the direct loss of the hosting gig, we can fault Obama for once again injecting Presidential interest where it really doesn't belong.  Obama may be the President of the United States - much to our dismay - but he behaves like he's still a local politician, speaking and reacting to local topics where he should remain Presidential, and aloof.   And as he does this, he diminishes the image of his office, and in so doing, weakens himself in the process. 

Just as when Obama embarrassed himself when he inappropriately leaped to conclusions regarding a local police altercation involving a well known Harvard professor, and injected himself into the story, here he's done essentially the same thing, to the same result.

As I noted in my previous post, the relatively small number of voters who pushed Obama over the top in the election, voted for Obama without knowing much at all about him.  As the Obama administration marches on to it's Marxist Socialist agenda, those voters are more or less listening, and learning more and more about the man they voted for whom they knew nothing about.  And many of those are not liking what they see.  I expect (and frankly hope) this will continue, because the big egoed never know when to call it quits, until it's too late.

The person best suited to destroy the Obama Presidency is Obama himself, and so far he's doing a bang up job of it.  I just hope, as I have intoned before, that by the end of his administration there will be an America left to salvage.
