A Liberal Controlled Government That Can't Tie Shoelaces

Poor President Obama.  So much going on, and going wrong, that it's almost impossible to keep track of it all.  Despite what seems to me to be a growing level of desperation by the press to keep spinning positive the giant mess that is the Obama Administration, it's getting harder and harder for most Americans to ignore how badly things are going.  They press has it's own issues with Obama - chiefly many of the liberals don't understand why they are getting the cold shoulder from Obama while they carry his water daily if not hourly.  The liberal press has been grumbling about Obama's poor treatment of them.  I am not terribly surprised by this.  Most con-men hold those they con in complete contempt.    Rush Limbaugh today used an interesting word to describe Obama:  Sophistry.  It's a con-man's word, and sadly for us all, it fits Obama

  • Heathcare reform, touted as a great triumph by the press and hard core liberals, and opposed by a majority of Americans.  The press gleefully expected the healthcare poll bump to celebrate the validation of his glorious success.  Only problem was his poll numbers declined - all too predictable to many outside the core socialists in this Country.  Bad news will continue to follow as the full tax, cost, and government controlled rationing implications become more and more apparent.  The majority of Americans wanted Congress to throw the 2,700 page pile of garbage in the trash and start over.   Obama refused.  No transparency, secret liberal meetings, no hearings, few if anyone had time to read the full text, let alone have any time to digest it's contents.  Corporations forced to take billions in charges against pensioner medical benefits.  A giant mess.

  • A nuclear weapons summit hosted by Obama in which the end product was a worthless declaration by attendees that - yes nukes are bad, and yes the world should work together to prevent their proliferation, and reduce current stock piles.  The press hailed this dog and pony public relations Kumbayah event as some great international success.  Actually, we don't blame them, because the Obama Administration is currently devoid of any material international successes.  But what really bothered me about this conference was the unnerving similarities between this grip-and-grin session, and the pre-World War II peace talks in Europe.  I was half expecting Obama to step up to the podium and declare "Peace in our time".   And let's not delve too deeply into this profoundly troubling treaty deal Obama cooked up with the Russians.   The world stepped deeper into the realm of grave danger.

  • On the Israeli residential construction program in East Jerusalem.  Just about everybody by now knows Obama doesn't like the Israelis, but we are wondering out loud how close Obama is to the line between not liking Israeli policy and being a bona fide anti-Semite.   I am not saying he is, but I am saying I am really really wondering about that.  While I understand the sensitivity of building Israeli residences on the West Bank, I have no qualms about Israel building in Jerusalem, east or west.  The reality is that Jerusalem lies at the epicenter of Jewish existence.  As far as I'm concerned, it's the Israelis, and they can keep the entire city.

  • On the Gulf of Mexico Oil spill....can you just imagine what would have happened in the press if the gulf spill had occurred under the Bush Administration?  The heat from the press corps would have ignited the crude oil all by itself!  Instead, once again the press is doing it's best, for the most part, to temper their criticism of Obama.  Despite claims to the contrary, it is pretty clear that the Obama Administration didn't do a whole hec of a lot of anything other than blame BP and declare they will PAY for what they've done.  The comparisons to Bush's heavily criticized response to the Katrina disaster are entirely legitimate.  Take note here of this one key difference:  From the moment of the explosion which destroyed the drilling rig, this was a Federal issue.  Unlike Katrina, where State and Local Government are expected to respond immediately while they request aid from FEMA via The Stafford Act, the oil rig disaster occurred beyond Louisiana territorial waters.  Obama's administration owned this from moment 1, day 1 - no Stafford Act request from a State required.  It has become pretty clear that both the Federal Government and BP were ill prepared for a major off-shore oil leak, despite the fact we have been extracting oil from the gulf for decades.  Once again the Federal government was caught flat-footed, and reacted rather than try to get ahead of the emergency.  The calls by some politicians to halt or end off-shore drilling are just silly-stupid.  The details surrounding the use, or lack thereof, of fire-booms to contain the leaking crude just leaves us shaking our head in disbelief.  Meanwhile, Obama says the Fed is doing everything possible, and of course, because he says so, we should believe him - right?  Think con-man - think serial sophistry.

  • Terror, terror, everywhere.  There have now been four domestic attacks on Americans by (do we need to say alleged?) Islamic terrorists within US borders since Obama ascended to the Presidency.  The lethal shooting attack by Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad at a military recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas, the terrorist massacre by Nidal Malik Hasan in Fort Hood, Texas in November 2009,  the Christmas Day terrorist attack on a US airliner in-bound for Detroit by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.  And now another near-miss attack using a car bomb in the heart of New York City by a Pakistani immigrant Faisal Shahzad.  We are almost thunderstruck by the chain of stroke-of-luck events that prevented this latest act of Islamic Terrorism.  We were also struck by how quick both the Obama Administration and NYC Mayor Bloomberg were to condescendingly refer to this as an amateur attack, as if we should be reassured because this bomb maker wasn't a graduate of the Harvard School of International Islamic Terrorism or something.  The amateur in question traveled to the motherland repeatedly, got training at the Allah Be Praised Trade School for Improvised Bomb Makers, went about purchasing the various over-the-counter bomb parts.  Next he Installed them in the SUV he bought for cash, drove the SUV unmolested into Times Square, and parked.  And there the SUV sat until the fuse sputtered rather than going blammo.  All undetected by the huge Federal intelligence apparatus that is supposed to be safe-guarding us.  The "amateur" bomb maker made only a couple "amateur" mistakes that prevented a gory scene in NYC.  The strokes of luck continued after the attempted bombing, while Mr. Shahzad attempted to flee the country.  All the while Obama & Co praising the non-detection, pure dumb luck escape from disaster.   The indisputable fact remains that there was one and only one Islamic Terror attack launched domestically during the Bush Administration.  Obama has had four in less than 2 years.  More are coming.  The Obama Administration, along with an all too enthusiastic Congress, emasculated the CIA, and there is now a dangerous gap in boots-on-the-ground intelligence gathering.  Political correctness lead directly to the Ft Hood massacre.   In short, without an aggressive turn of the ship, Obama is going to get a lot of Americans killed.  But worry not, he'll just blame George W. Bush, or maybe BP, or Wall Street or all of the above.  Maybe the press will try to save him if/when it happens, maybe not.
There's more to say here, but it's getting late, so perhaps I will continue this post at another time.  There is six months to go for the next election cycle when America will have an opportunity to reject the current liberal run amok insanity, and still more than two years to go before we can replace Obama with - Lord hear our prayer - a real leader, rather than a Marxist con-man and profligate liar.

I have this sensation of being on a bus hanging half off a cliff, and teetering.....teetering.....teetering......
