A General Makes A Disturbing Comment

An article posted on a website I've never heard of before, executivegov.com , linked to on the Drudge website, quotes Admiral Mike Mullen declaring that biggest threat to national security is our national debt.

Someone once remarked to me that I think too much, and often that is true.  So, perhaps I am over-thinking this, but when the top military commander of all our armed forces refers to a domestic issue as a national security risk, it sends something of a chill down my spine.  Are we heading for a military coup d'état?  Will things get so bad that our military leaders will feel compelled to overthrow Obama, and our terribly dysfunctional Congress?  I shudder to think of it.  Our founding fathers provided us with an ingenious mechanism to 'overthrow' the government:  an election.   In November, barring any major gaffs by the Republicans, the people will speak, and the Democrats will be overthrown.  Two years later, Obama will also be overthrown in the next presidential election cycle.  Can America survive in the interim of these events?  While I worry greatly about what's going to happen next year (2011) when the Bush tax cuts are allowed to sunset, and health care, capital gains,  and other taxes begin to kick in, drawing off billions from the economy, I am hopeful we can break the Democrat super majority in November, hang on for two more years, and then remove the radical leftist Obama from power the right and proper way - by voting him out of office.  After that, we must set about the hard work of fixing a mess so big it boggles the mind to contemplate.  Can it be done?  Yes - it can.  More on that later.
