One of the many symptoms of The Stupid Nation is a short memory.  Both Democrats and Republicans alike count on people forgetting past misdeeds.

Today the Republicans read the Constitution of the United States out loud on the floor of the House.  Well, it's a start.  However, we must pause and remember that it was chiefly the Republicans who wrote and enacted The Patriot Act - a law which was a direct attack on the Fourth Amendment, and delivered unconstitutional powers to both the Executive Branch, and Federal law enforcement.  Much of the text of the Patriot Act is a crime against the Constitution, and if the Republicans want to put their votes where their mouths are, they will modify or outright repeal it. 

Of course, at the time, the Democrats screamed bloody murder over the Patriot Act, right up until they won the Senate, the House, and the Presidency, and subsequently went mum on the horrors of this law.

My challenge to Boehner:  tear down this law!

It is not that I am all for protecting terrorists.  Far from it.  It is that I am all for protecting non-terrorist ordinary Americans from omnipotent invincible rogue Government.
