Obama Weaves A Ghilli Suit

Is that you Chewbacca?
From Wikipedia:

"A ghillie suit, yowie suit, or camo tent is a type of camouflage clothing designed to resemble heavy foliage. Typically, it is a net or cloth garment covered in loose strips of cloth or twine, sometimes made to look like leaves and twigs, and optionally augmented with scraps of foliage from the area.

Snipers and hunters may wear a ghillie suit to blend into their surroundings and conceal themselves from enemies or targets. The suit gives the wearer's outline a three-dimensional breakup, rather than a linear one. When manufactured correctly, the suit will move in the wind in the same way as surrounding foliage."

After the historic and humiliating loss to the Republican Party in November of 2010, Obama faced an obvious dilemma - stick to his overtly socialist policies and lose the White House in 2012, or bow to the will of the people, and shift to the center.

In my opinion Obama and his faithful knew full well that a plurality of Americans would ultimately reject his policies.  I have no doubt that Obama's people polled and polled and polled, coming up with the same answers each time.  I suspect (since I cannot prove) that Obama calculated that he would ram his most noxious policy ambitions down our throats during the first half of his Presidency, and then temper his second half in the hopes that the Stupid Nation, famously short on memory, would forget all the unpleasantness by 2012.  I believe this is the core reason why Obama claimed that heath care "reform" legislation was so urgently needed - because he and his administration knew that this unpopular initiative would need to get passed early, or never.  Whatever the strategizing, Obama got gobsmacked by the election, and tried as best he could to strike a conciliatory tone.

Not long after Obama had his political head handed to him in the election, we started seeing articles in the press and also hearing Obama invoke the name of President Ronald Reagan.  We saw essays and analysis of Obama drifting to the center, at long last, as Obama fought to get the sunsetting Bush tax reductions renewed - even if it meant giving a galling "tax break" to the wealthiest of Americans.  There were claims that Obama told Democrats that if the extensions didn't pass, Obama's reelection prospects were dim - but the White House denied this.  We saw that Obama was reading a biography of Reagan, with a hint that Obama was trying to learn what life was like as a conservative.

Far from it.

The only thing that interests Obama about his predecessor was that Reagan was successful at transforming the nation towards conservatism.  Obama is interested in doing the reverse, and he is searching for ideas on how to do it - and that is why he reads up on Reagan.

Obama did not wake up the day after the election and suddenly see the shining beacon of that conservative city on a hill.....no, he immediately started calculating on how to appease an angry electorate just enough so that he could get re-elected.  And if he does manage to get re-elected, as soon as he is, he will immediately return to his socialist ways.  Obama is trying to camouflage himself as best he can.  However, fortunately for us, and unfortunately for him, Obama's unabashed support for the unions in Wisconsin, and his boobish handling of one middle eastern crisis after another have left gapping holes in the camo suit he's trying to weave.

Obama was, is, and always shall be a die-hard radical left winger, and try as he might to pretend to drift to the center.

As we all watch the Democratic Party resist transformative change to get the United States back on track, the real party of "no" has emerged from behind the curtain:  no to government union reform, no to social security reform, no to Federal fiscal reform, no to real health care reform, no to a strong national defense and so on.

I for one will not be fooled.  And neither should you.
