The Man Of Peace Goes To War
Remember this?
Flashback 2009
Egged on by Hillary throwing rocks at Obama's window, the waffling President finally committed US armed forces to intervene - somewhat - in the insurgency going on in Libya. I can't help but wonder if the esteemed Nobel Peace Prize Committee is appalled by the war-monger Obama, and considering a demand for the return of the medal and the prize cash.
""for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
There's been little cooperation between conservatives and liberals here in the United States since Obama took office. In fact, it seems that most pundits agree that Obama has further polarized the country in what one headline declared was the worst in the last 30 years. And he's pitted one race against another time and again.
How do you strengthen international cooperation by selling out our Polish allies on missile defense? Or selling out the Brits by handing some of their nuclear secrets to the aforementioned Russian thugs - over the Brits explicit objections? Or selling out the Israelis to all their adversaries in their own backyard? Could Obama appear more bored and disinterested by the historic calamity that befell Japan, a crucial ally in Asia?
The stuffy elitists who select the 'winner' of the Nobel Prizes had to take the extraordinary step of rationalizing their award to a President whose only accomplishment at the time was to get elected. Don't they look extra-special stupid now.
Who knows how the Libya operations will pan out. But one thing is for certain, just like with the slaughter that occurred in Rwanda under Clinton, had there been no oil in Libya, there would be no coalition of the willing, Indeed, for all the belly-aching about Bush going to war with Iraq over oil, Obama goes to war with Libya for the exact same reason.
Right now it's only Hillary throwing rocks at Obama's window. If the cost of energy keeps going up and up, she will have plenty of company.
Plenty.
