Supreme Arrogance From The Supreme Leader

Update:  Syndicated columnist Michael Barone picked up on the 'let them eat cake' arrogance of Obama as well, but you read it here first!

The price of crude oil is on the rise again, as I predicted it eventually would.  President Obama is out on the campaign trail....well, actually he never left the campaign trail, but... in his usual condescending arrogant way had some advice for Americans on this 2nd coming of the dormant Energy Crisis:

Obama said, chuckling as he said it,  “If you’re complaining about the price of gas and you’re only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know....you might want to think about a trade-in.”

Hope and change, eh.

Obama went on to say there was little he could do to alleviate the Energy Crisis 2.0.  Little he could do?  Obama's bungling of successive middle east political crises did more to exacerbate the price of oil than if 1,000,000 cars were added to our highways overnight.  Two years ago, almost to the day, when I predicted the energy crisis would return to us, had the Supreme Leader opened up domestic regions known to contain vast oil stocks, those additional domestic resources would be almost ready to come on-line right about now, and their coming would have served to quell jittery markets.  In addition to failing to open up desolate places like ANWAR to drilling, Obama has thrown every obstacle he can think of to thwart new drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, and harassed oil producers on the wells that already existed.

Not much he can do?  Obama has done everything he can do to precipitate this latest crisis.  This President thinks that when the pain point gets high enough, we will all revert back to our agrarian roots and take up bike riding to that job 35 miles away - maybe some of us will have enough money to put a windmill on that bike.  Those in the rural areas will re-take to horseback.  So what if the Second Great Depression follows, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger - right??  What Obama and his liberal cronies fail to understand is that the world is currently and oil based economy.  Thus, when the price of oil rises to a certain point, it will bring the economy down to it's knees.  Everyone knows this except Obama and his regime, unless of course, that is precisely what they are aiming to do.

And now we come to trading-in vehicles.  So, Mr. President, how is a family supposed to replace the old 8 mpg clunker when Mom and Dad are both unemployed and surviving on welfare and food banks?  Hmmm?  How are the many millions out there under-employed going to afford your precious $40,000 Chevy Volt?  Any ideas?  How are the working poor going to trade in their beat up old steel beasts for that sleek new Hyundai when they can just barely pay the rent and feed their kids?

Do you recognize the tone and undercurrent of this quote?  Is it strangely familiar to you?

“If you’re complaining about the price of gas and you’re only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know....you might want to think about a trade-in.” <chuckles>  Obama thinks this is funny.  People are being pushed over the edge by the high cost of energy and petroleum based products, and the President of the United States thinks this is all funny.

As the popular legend of Marie Antoinette goes, after being informed that the peasants had no bread, she replied "Let them eat cake", and was subsequently deposed and executed.  Now comes Barack Obama, arrogantly telling us we should trade in our guzzlers or......eat cake.

High energy costs take a disproportionately heavy toll on the poor, and Obama's solution is for everybody to stick a windmill up their ass, and drill baby drill...in Brazil.  Sadly, many among the poor are too dumb or uninformed to realize it is Obama who is shafting them.  You mark my words:  THE worst President the United States has ever seen.  THE worst.

In the meantime.....though lacking serious support, nonetheless articles of impeachment are more or less quietly making the rounds on Capitol Hill.  As well they should.

Cake anyone?
