Politically Correct Assassination

So it looks like Seal Team Six has carried out the worlds first and perhaps already the most famous politically correct assassination.  After surgically blowing Osama Bin Ladens' brains out, he was scooped up, and after a proper Muslim service, his remains were gently lowered into Poseidon's realm.

Yes, Bin Laden sleeps with the fishes.

Here is what I can't help but wonder out loud:  Why should we give a mass murderer a politically correct religious burial?  Imagine for a moment if we could travel back in time, to say April 30, 1945.  Instead of throwing Hilter's body in a ditch and burning it, what if the Russians, Americans, and Brits got together and gave Hilter a proper Christian send off?  What would the world's reaction be to that?  I wonder.

The meting out of imperfect justice on Bin Laden is a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation.  No matter how Obama handled the Osama remains disposal, no one was going to be satisfied.  So why bother?.  Here, Bin Laden slaughters thousands in the name of Islam, and plotted the murder of many thousands more.  For that reason alone he did not deserve a proper Muslim anything.

Bin Laden was a power mad evil thug who hid behind a religion in order to deceive his power base, and rationalize the murder of innocent people.

So, now Bin Laden is at the bottom of the sea, hopefully being slowly devored by Tunicates.

Celebrate?  Well, that's not the right word, and not the proper Christian thing to do either.  I would just say....he reaped what he sowed.  Somehow, I don't think a harem full of 72 virgins is in the offing for that one.  Not at all.

And at the end of the day, in this case, Obama didn't have to declare we would capture Osama, give him a "fair" trial, find him guilty, and then kill him.  We just went straight for the kill shot.  And we didn't even consult any of our allies.  A page torn from the Bush playbook.  That's gotta leave a mark.
