I certainly would have enough brains not to photograph the private part, much less "accidentally" upload it to Twitter.


Back in the day, when the President Bill Clinton was about to be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors arising from his notorious liaison with a White House intern, my advocacy was that Clinton should be removed from office.  Not because he had sex with a woman on high-cost government property, but because he perjured himself under oath.  That crime should have cost him his Presidency.

So now we have Representative Weiner, who either by "accident" or design uploaded a picture of his 'unit' standing tall, and sent it off over the internet, sparking a feeding frenzy on the right, and some perplexed hand-wringing on the left.  Calls for his resignation began echoing around Washington, as well as cyberspace.

Well, this conservative is not jumping on the band wagon.  Sure, Mr. Weiner should never have snapped a pic of his man-pride, much less uploaded it, but looky here - he didn't perjure himself under oath, and so far, doesn't appear to have committed a crime.  While there have been reports that he used Government assets to twitter - come on -that's an infraction equivalent of a parking ticket.  Bill Clinton wasn't impeached for using the Oval Office for sex, and one could argue that was much more offensive than uploading a porn pic.

Should Weiner resign over this photo-gate thing?  He didn't commit a crime (so far as anyone knows).  He isn't accused of corruption - you know, like packing cash in a freezer or something like that.  He didn't have sex in his office like Bill Clinton did (that we know of).  So, I say Weiner's punishment of being publicly humiliated is enough, and if he can stand the heat, he can keep his seat, until is congressional district says otherwise.

By now, I'll wager the Congressman wishes he was an Oscar Mayer Wiener, 'cause if he were an Oscar Mayer wiener, everyone would be in love with him.........
