A Poll We Can Believe In

In my last post, I mentioned the curious poll numbers showing pretty good support for Obama in his "approval" ratings at a time when it's hard to find someone who does not believe America is going to hell in a hand basket.

Now comes a poll of a different flavor.  The question here is not whether or not one approves of Obama, the question is whether or not one would vote for him in the next election.  Where the rubber meets the road, in the polling booth, the truth comes out, just as I had predicted it would.  Currently, only 30% of Americans say they would vote for Obama.

Now let's extrapolate this into an 'adjusted' Presidential approval rating.  Only 30% of Americans approve of Obama and/or his policies.  This strikes me as a far more realistic number than those hard-to-believe approval ratings being published.  I believe there is a direct correlation to another poll which suggested that approximately 1/3rd of all Americans view Socialism favorably.

Ah, if only the election were tomorrow, and we could end America's leftist misery, and get to the hard and unpleasant tasks of fixing our huge debt and over-promised entitlements problems made all the more enormous by our incompetent President.

The coming election cycle could be an historic moment for the Republicans, if they can only get their act together and coherently remind the American people that Government is not what made America great.  They need to remind the masses that it was personal freedoms, and the power of free enterprise, that made America great.
