Stand Fast
So, cyberspace media is ablaze with the news that Obama "abruptly" left the debt limit negotiating table after Republican Eric Cantor pissed his Royal Highness off once too often.
Claims were made that cool and aloof Obama "lit up" Cantor in a fit of temper, but I doubt this characterization simply because Obama does not have the innate eloquence, or the necessary depth of understanding of the fundamentals of the issue at hand to turn a verbal flame-thrower on anyone. Away from ghost writers and teleprompters, a high school student could joust with Obama and win.
So when the typically in-eloquent Obama admonished the right not to "call his bluff", the only appropriate answer was: 'We call you, and raise you'.
As this Obama manufactured debt ceiling crisis rolls on, I would just like to pause here and remind our Republican leadership that the Democrats who are demanding a Republican capitulation to layering on regressive taxes to a teetering economy are the same Democrats who rammed Obamacare down the throats of all Americans despite bitter and wide-spread opposition. The same Democrats who rammed through a historically disastrous and utterly ineffective "stimulus" that was nothing more than a breathtaking expansion in the size and scope of the federal government. The same Democrats who, with the help of a couple RINO turncoats, rammed home another disastrous piece of crap legislation on Finance "reform" that was merely a poorly disguised government take-over of our core capital markets. And the same President who smugly declared 'I won; you lost' to Republicans trying to negotiate legislation in good faith shortly after the national election of 2008.
No, it's high time for the insane spending spree mortgaging the future of our great-great grandchildren to stop. And if we also knock the gigantor chip off Obama's shoulder, all the better.
So, Republicans, stand fast. This moment in history is one of those special moments where there is no compromise, there really is no negotiating. It is hard to say definitively, but our future as a nation may very well depend on the Republicans standing up against the Democrat bullies and utterly refusing to capitulate.
Call the bluff....and stand fast.
