Shake, Rattle, And Roll
So here in New Jersey today I was slaving away at work as usual and I felt the building tremble for a few seconds. Feeling that odd sensation I glanced around and noticed the water in my glass was gently swaying to and fro.
EARTHQUAKE!
I surmised what is was, and quickly returned to my slaving in front of a hot PC.
The news quickly spread that we had felt a temblor that popped off near Richmond Virginia. Now, contrary to popular belief, this area is not devoid of earthquakes. A little more than a year ago there were a cluster of small earthquakes in the northern New Jersey area. We also have our very own fault called - oddly enough - the Ramapo Fault. Some siesmologists say that fault might be capable of producing a significant earthquake. A major highway crosses the Ramapo Fault, and supposedly the bridge was constructed to stronger seismic standards than is customary around these parts.
In 1884, a 5.5 earthquake struck New York City toppling many brick chimney's. So, medium strength quakes are not unprecedented.
Maybe this is just one of many pre-cursor events to the doomsday coming in 2012. If you hear trumpets blaring and see 7 dark figures on horseback riding around......blame the Democrats!
Or better yet, blame the Tea Party!
Yeah that's it...the Tea Party is at....er.....fault (sorry for the pun, couldn't resist)
