This is how political opinion writers should be. Balanced. The writer clearly admittedly conservative, but it isn't disrespectful or shrill. To be "credible" you must be the un-Carvel. You can clearly be in a left or right camp, but you must be not obviously spin doctoring. American know when they are being spinned, especially if ever bought a car. At little bad, a little good. Acknowledgment differing opinion, but never should you come off as someone who is telling you up is down and night is day. If you listen to Beckel, Obama is the greatest president. Just intuitively, you balk. Isn't that a judgment of history? If you listen to the anti-Beckel's, Obama will destroy that nation. A clear democratic loyalist doesn't speak to independents. A right winger won't capture the attention of the college kids. You need to be a wise cynic in the center. All those that don't vote, who have given up on the political process or just do a defacto vote into Status Quo, need to reached. The nature of country is on the line. Either we will become a Europeanized America, which many believe in, or we will stay the Unique Leader of the Democratic World.

I was hoping we had heard the last of peanut brain when he left office years ago. I guess that wasn't meant to be. Too bad Regan was the one who developed Alzheimer's. Or maybe they just haven't diagnosed Jimmy Carter's yet. The song says, "only the good die young". I guess that means that we will have Pelosi, Reid, and the others around until what, 2040 or 2050? Carter is an example of the truth that you can vote them out, but you can't necessarily shut them up.

Personally I think the article was right on the money...all the worthless money the Federal Reserve is cranking out to make our present dollars all the more worthless. By the way, why is it when someone disagrees with a blogger's article, they say the blogger is being hateful? Just goes to show you this blog is aptly named for our nation.

These small minded people that are found in our criminal justice system are stepping well beyond their bounds. Their interpretations of the laws are reached in 'left to right' exercises of logic. They decide they want to punish this girl. Either their personal sense of decency was harmed or their thirst for power overwhelmed them, but something other than sensibility drove them. Once their mission was clear, it is time to find a law that they can 'spin' to meet their need. (They see the supreme court do it, so why can't they?) I know of a town that has a police 'party patrol'. They 'find' reasons to walk onto private property and 'discover' teen graduation parties where beer was consumed. Underage drinking cannot be tolerated for all of the obvious reasons. Be clear on this. IT CANNOT BE TOLERATED!. That being said, how can we as free Americans tolerate this ever increasing Police State that was emblematic of the worst dictatorships that our world has ever seen. Our liberal friends have seen to it that the police cannot harass street gangs, but they find no distaste for authoritarian tactics being used.

We are indeed going down a slippery road.

I've been thinking about this issue, and agree totally w/ the idea. This has to be in combination w/ existing plans to recapitalize banks and to go in and put a floor on mortgage paper, but there are complications - mutual funds or asset allocation plans.. and what will happen when everyone flips their portfolios to take advantage of the temporary tax credit?

The idea of congressional approval would perhaps spread that wild volume swing out, but it would be interesting to see how brokers would handle the volume.

I'd say the holiday should last until we have a GDP uptick, likely at least 6 months. This all would have to be done in consideration of serious reforms on mortgage lending and leverage.

We all have to work very hard to elect John MCain.If a democrat wins the election it will make that poor excuse of a human being(Peolsi)more reckless than she is.Then throw Howard Dean,Chris Dodd,,and a few more into the front seat and we will go back 30 years.But not to worry the USA will be attacked and brought to our knees, if we have a country left.We all must work hard to remove these nuts when their term is up.The first one Chris Dodd.
